Product Care

Slate XVI is designed to be enjoyed for years. With proper care, the pieces will maintain their finish while naturally developing an even smoother fit through regular use.

Storage

For storage, we recommend leaving the board in a solved state. To remove the completed game from the board, gently flip the board over or carefully lean it on its side, allowing the pieces to slide out together.

If a Piece Becomes Stuck

The fit between pieces is intentionally precise. If a piece is difficult to remove, avoid forcing it.

Instead, begin by removing pieces near any open spaces or gaps. Once additional room has been created, the remaining pieces can be removed easily before replacing the ones you temporarily removed.

Cleaning

Do not submerge the board or pieces in water.

For routine cleaning, wipe with a soft cloth. If necessary, use a lightly damp cloth before drying with a microfiber towel. Avoid excessive moisture or scrubbing, as this may affect the finish over time.

Durability

Slate XVI is designed for regular play. As the game is used, the pieces naturally settle into the board, creating an even smoother playing experience over time.

Recommended Age

Recommended for ages 8 and up.

The challenge itself is suitable for many ages; the recommendation simply helps ensure all sixteen pieces can be safely managed and accounted for. For younger players, we recommend adult supervision.

Missing Pieces

Slate XVI contains 16 unique pieces. If you believe one is missing, count all pieces before searching further.

Instruction Card

Each game includes an instruction card explaining the basics of Slate XVI. We recommend keeping it with your game, taking a photo for easy reference, or accessing the digital version on the website whenever needed.

If Slate XVI is displayed on a coffee table, bookshelf, or console, leaving the instruction card nearby offers guests a simple introduction and an invitation to play.
